My Summer of Tennis Travel Started on a High Note

Posted on October 7, 2013December 5, 2014 by Agallivant

I made my way to DC where I was able to meet up with some wonderful twitter buds and hang with friends I hadn’t seen in forever. Citi Open continues to be one of my favorite home tourneys, because it has such a relaxed local vibe. Yes, some of the matches got rained delayed until it was way too late to reasonably start a match but having the opportunity to see Delpo play his best more than once made up for it.

I had cause to expect the 2012 summer of tennis to be a really good one. Where did we go wrong?

If these pics don’t sell you on how wonderful Citi is, then blame me…

DC started off very well
it got better
then it really nailed it out of the park.
I was sad he didn’t get to defend but hey he’ll always have 2012
Tennis at night in America, huh?
Hints of what was to come…
He was great to kids seeking pics and autographs
This guy was something with the ladies…
It might be the smile…
Dima was playing very well in his match against Steps when he decided to give us a reason to wonder if it would continue
Even Kei was hounded…
Isner is always up for autographs too
oh yeah this guy
yes ladies, we get it.
see this is more my speed though… hey Simon.
See why I like this town, they know the real deal
leave the star alone people!
Thank God, they listened so that I could get this one of Delpo all by himself.
