Kamau Murray – Sending Minority Kids to College with Tennis Scholarships

Posted on April 20, 2016April 20, 2016 by Agallivant

The Realz Gang interviewed Kamau Murray, President/CEO of XS Tennis, Executive Director of XSTEF, and coach of American tennis player, Sloane Stephens. We talked about his push to send minority students to college on tennis scholarships, coaching Sloane Stephens & Taylor Townsend, and his vision of the role of a coach.

In addition, the Gang broke down the week’s action in tennis, particularly in Monte Carlo. Congratulations to Rafa Nadal on his 9th Monte Carlo Masters title! Special shout-out to Gael Monfils for his valiant fight in his 3rd Masters’ final. There’s bound to be a break-through just around the corner.

The XS Tennis and Education Foundation Mission is to provide Chicago’s underserved youth with an enriching safe-haven and positive academic/athletic pathway to college through a community-based sports and academic enrichment program. Over the coming years, XSTEF’s Mission is to introduce as many Chicago youth as possible to XSTEF’s program on the pathway to college, graduate school, and successful futures. You can donate to support their efforts.
