Completing the Fan Slam at 2019 Australian Open

Posted on January 19, 2019January 19, 2019 by Agallivant

I hadn’t thought that I would complete the fan slam by attending all four of the  tennis majors. I was happy to have visited all three in 2009. Since then, I have been content to make my annual trek to New York City for the US Open with the wonderful Wimbledon 2017 still emblazoned in my memories.

However, a change of fortunes within the past few months has allowed me to make one of my travel dreams come true. I am headed to the Australian Open!

Now, I just hope that Federer plays nice and sticks around for a few more days, so I will get a chance to see him on Laver Arena, if I can.

As I took a quick look through my pictures from 2009, I am amazed at the players I have seen and the matches I have been lucky to watch live.

Quite a few players came and went, but some old favorites are still standing.

Happy fan slam!

Hi, Andreen. So happy for you that you got to the AO. I hope you got to see Fed (even if he was losing to Tsitsipas). The year I went, it was very hot (water bottles melted on the courts), but still a lot of fun. Enjoy every minute!

Thanks, Linda. It’s a beautiful tournament. Hoping for a great match with the boys tonight. Serena is taking care of Halep as I write.
